A case film for BBC World News, using new speech-to-text technology.
Our idea is to use new technology in order to help people receive their news firsthand, with the assurance that what they are hearing is accurate, unedited and the pure truth. We used speech-to-text technology, which translates audio into words, in order to create Word of Mouth. Word of Mouth records interviewees and translates their words onto BBC World News‘ website in real-time, letting people read the words as they are being spoken, without any edits. We used BBC World News, a global news channel with a reputation for telling the news accurately, as our brand and platform for this new technology to be implemented.
